Randal Smith, DMin.
Lead Pastor - Interim
Pastor Randal comes to Center Church following 35 years of active church ministry, 23 in the Boston metro area. Educated in Music Education and Choral Conducting, Randal used this background to toggle between educational and ministry pursuits in his first 13 years of ministry as an associate pastor throughout the Midwest and Midsouth.
In 1991, he arrived in Burlington, MA to work in his last associate role and soon transitioned to become the senior pastor at First Assembly of God In Lynn, MA, which has since become Grace City Church. He pastored in Lynn for 22 years, stepping away in 2014 to pursue Leadership Coaching through a company he co-founded, Clearpoint Coaching.
In 2016, he completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Assembly of God Theological Seminary with an emphasis in professional coaching. While in Lynn, Pastor Randal also served as President of the Lynn Shelter Association and various roles with the Assembly of God denomination, including Presbyter of the Northeast Massachusetts Section.
Pastor Randal has agreed to serve as Lead Pastor for the immediate future, shepherding the congregation through a pastoral transition and period of leadership and organizational development.
Pastor Randal and his wife, Beckie, celebrate 40 years of marriage this year. They live in Peabody, just around the corner from Center Church. They have two adult sons, Nathan and Gabriel and two grands, Noah and Theodore Smith, sons of Nathan and Sophia. PR loves KU basketball, Tex-mex, and most of the Boston professional sports teams.
